How To Make Good Choices (15)

Here are my steps for making good choices:

  1. Will the choice bring more good than bad?
  2. Can you get rid of the bad at a later time?
  3. Does it make me happy?
  4. Do it.
Sometimes we try to please people too much, and so the choices we make reflect how we want others to see us and so we end up unhappy ourselves. My mom told me recently that I need to start making choices that are the best for me. It actually makes deciding so much easier. I'm not suggesting be selfish, because in the end being selfish really doesn't help at all. But what I am suggesting is being self-aware. Know what you want, and get it in the best way possible.

Example 1:

Today I was hungry. So I decided I needed to eat. My choice was Jamba Juice or Chick-Fil-A. My thought process went like this as I decided if I should go for Jamba Juice:

  1. Will the choice bring more good than bad? Yes! It's better than eating fried chicken!
  2. Can you get rid of the bad at a later time? Sure! Any fat from the granola can be worked off by exercise. Pssshhhttt or I can accept the fact that it's a healthy meal and just enjoy it.
  3. Does it make me happy? HECK TO THE YES!
  4. Do it. :)
Simple as that I had myself a yummy bowl of mixed berries and granola.

Example 2:

I've been told recently that I shouldn't let boys see ugly photos of myself because it scares them or just makes me very unattractive. Well to that I say HA! So my thought process for hideous photos goes like this:
  1. Will the choice bring more good than bad? Yes! The majority of people find it funny, including me!
  2. Can you get rid of the bad at a later time? Sure! I'm sure there are a couple of nice photos of me out there...somewhere ;)
  3. Does it make me happy? OHHHH YEEAAAHHHH!
  4. Do it. :)
Hence photos like these end up on the internet...

I guess I should prove that I can be beautiful...so here is my favourite photo:

Oh...woops ;)

I guess what I'm trying to say is live life the way YOU want to. Because it is YOUR life. If that means, like me, you enjoy taking ugly selfies and laughing all day, then you do that! Because no one does you like you do.
